OUR MISSION:
to bring the arts to global communities
MEET OUR HEAD VISIONARY
MEET QUEEN J
Queen J is an international motivational speaker, curriculum creator, poet and global change maker. In 2015, she created an arts based youth development curriculum: SWAG(Scholars Working to Ascend A Generation) which was implemented in over 50 schools, parks and after-school programs in NYC, Minneapolis and Chicago. She was the founder of QUEEN U, a traveling women’s empowerment initiative that hosted healing circles in 26 cities around the United states! In 2020, She bought land in the Dominican Republic. She started building her vision on that land from the ground up. Sacred Space Village is a private healing grounds assisting those who wish to return back to their POWER. SACRED ARTS is her collaborative on the grounds arts development program for the local children of Anamuya, DR. She plans to take this program to communities in 7 countries over the next 5 years.
SACRED ARTS PROGRAM: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
The SACRED ARTS PROGRAM: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC began in July 2024 when Queen J decided to offer her arts of hip-hop, poetry, acting, singing and dancing to the young people of her community.
She decided to take the leap, collaborate with local community members and create the very first program of its kind in the area.
She saw that although there were SO many children in their community, there was no programming for the children. Most of the children just sat around bored with NOTHING to do.
She rented a space in the community and began to provide FREE weekly artistic and self-development classes to the local children. We currently serve over 20 scholars between the ages of 8-15 years old.
Our weekly programming brings the following 2 hour classes to the youth of Anamuya:
- [ ] Painting/Drawing
- [ ] Dancing
- [ ] Self-Development
- [ ] Acting
Our goal is to continue to grow our programming in our Inaugural city of Anamuya, Dominican Republic and then expand to 2 other local cities by April 2025. Over the next 5 years, we plan to expand our programming to the following countries: Haiti, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras and Mexico.
